DBPF Honors Oldest Employee at The Arc - Barbara Sturgis

An incredibly unique, assertive, and observant employee being served at the Arc

April 25, 2011

The Police Foundation Host Ms. Barbara Sturgis April 22nd, at 8:30am

Barbara is 76 years old, Arc’s oldest employee, who is most assertive and believes in order. She has worn a badge to work for years and in her own unique nonverbal way keeps the individuals she cares about on task. Barbara is working on a contract this year through Sparton and the Pentagon/Navy and earning a pay check. She is quick to let the Executive Director know how she feels and always wants to maintain a strong work environment. Her badge has worn out and finally broke last week. We were hoping the Police Foundation would take this opportunity for a great story, or just helping us replace her badge with something sturdier and shaking her hand. The Police Foundation has stepped up and has invited her to their meeting next week Friday, April 22, at 8:30am. You will not want to miss this incredible heartwarming event.
