The Daytona Beach Police Foundation, a non-profit organization established to support the City of Daytona Beach Police Department kicked off its fundraising efforts with a VIP reception and tour of the new Daytona Beach Police Department Headquarters. According to Bob Davis, president of the Hotel & Lodging Association and chairman of the Police Foundation, “This is a very exciting time for us.” Last year the foundation raised over $80,000 and approximately $140,000 in scholarship for 40 officers. It has been long noted that municipal funds cannot fully sustain all the efforts to fight crime and so we stepped in to assist Chief Chitwood in his crime fighting efforts.”

Last year’s efforts included our Inaugural Policeman’s Ball which was a huge success and was made so by the many corporations/businesses and community residents. This year our goal is to exceed $150,000 and we are well on our way. At the recent VIP reception and tour, approximately $66,000 in funds was donated by private donors. Davis says, “I am just elated…words cannot express what I’m feeling, and I am never at a loss for words.”

Currently our fundraising drives are “Support Our Local Police Department” window decal and engraved brick pavers.
